Working Conditions in Bangladesh Garment Factories - This Girl Said No!

Cherie Birkner June 26, 2017

Taslima is a garment factory worker from Bangladesh who helped form a union asking for better working conditions and was then fired. Now she has been blacklisted for over a year and can not get a job at any of the other factories. She told us about how supervisors sit around you, shout at you and even physically abuse you if you are not able to meet the target of 1000 - 1200 pieces per day.

Check out the website of the National Garment Worker Federation, where Taslima is a member, to see what unionists are doing in Bangladesh.

Dithhi Bhattacharya, who is sitting next to Taslima translates what she is saying.

This video was spontaneously recorded during a get together 'No Victims For Fashion!' at Supermarché, in collaboration with dns merch.

She is such a sweetheart!
